Maritime Art by Scott Kennedy

Scott Kennedy has been capturing the romance of sailing for most of his lifetime - he was drawing ships when he was five years old, and held his first professional show at age 13 - every painting at that show sold. At 16 years of age he was chosen by the Governor of California to draw the Governor’s mansion, and in his twenties he enrolled in the Bellas Artes de Mexico school in San Miguel de Allende. At this institution, modeled after the Académie des Beaux–Arts for its unique classical approach, he further developed his skills. He then spent several years based in Denmark, producing hundreds of works depicting coastal life there and in Germany and Holland, before moving back across the Atlantic. He now divides his time between his homes in Puerta Banda, Baja California, and Newport Beach.

Scott will be at Collage for a reception and talk on maritime art on July 12th at 2 PM. You can learn more about his career and art at his website, https://artbyscottkennedy.com/
